Mrs. S. J. Smelser Dies

Mrs. Sarah Jane Smelser, aged 74 years, died at 9 o'clock yesterday morning at 
her home, 510 1/2 Lincoln avenue, Colorado City.  Arrangements for the funeral 
have not been made pending word from relatives. 

Mrs. Smelzer (sic) had lived in Colorado City for the last seven years.  She 
is survived by five children - two daughter, Eleanor and May Smelser, who live 
in Colorado City, and three sons, Horace F. Smelser of Raymond, Colo., William 
Smelser of Independence, Mo., and James Smelser of Adams, Ill.


Additional Comments:
Sarah Jane is the wife of John Riley Smelser born about 1840 in Missouri.  
John Riley was the son of John Smelser and Nancy Smith, also from Missouri.  
Horace is found in the 1943 Colorado Springs City directory and is also buried 
in the Fairview Cemetery, ElPaso County, Colorado ... section A03.
