This picture was taken of Hiram T. Mackey and his second wife Julia Ann Ames 
Palmatier at E. W. Rhinehart studio in Florence, Colorado between 1888 and 1896.

Additional Comments:
Hiram T. Mackey was born 26 August 1820 in Ulster Co., NY. He married his 
second wife Julia Anne Ames 12 Nov 1887 in Kirksville, Adair Co., MO. She was 
born 16 April 1834 in Dutchess Co., NY and was the widow of William Henry 
Palmatier. They moved to Colorado in a covered wagon the spring of 1888 along 
with his son Hiram Lee Mackey who had married Julia's daughter Emma Cornelia 
Palmatier. Julia died 5 April 1896 in Coal Creek and Hiram T. died 30 May 1907 
and both were buried in Union Highland Cemetery in Florence, Colorado.
