Hiram T. Mackey is pictured in a carpenter's workshop - he was a carpenter and 
a farmer. William L. Mackey, Hiram T. Mackey's father was a "master carpenter". 

Additional Comments:
Hiram T. Mackey was born 26 Aug 1820 in Ulster Co., NY to William L. Mackey and 
Hannah (maiden?name). Hiram was in Whiteside Co., Illinois by 27 Nov 1856 when 
he married to Elizabeth Warner born 18 Jan 1829. Their first four children were 
born in Illinois. Hiram and family moved to Kansas before 1865 where the 
remainder of their seven children were born. Hiram and Elizabeth were in Macon 
Co., MO by 22 Oct 1879 when Elizabeth Mackey died from TB. Hiram then took the 
family to Iowa where two of his sons died. He was back in Missouri by 12 Nov 
1887 when he married second Julia Ames Palmatier widow of William Henry 
Palmatier and mother of Emma C. Palmatier Mackey his daughter-in-law. Hiram T. 
and Julia moved to Colorado in the spring of 1888 along with his son Hiram Lee 
and Emma Palmatier Mackey. Hiram Lee Mackey died in Coal Creek 3 Nov 1893 of 
TB. Julia Ames Palmatier Mackey died 5 April 1896 in Coal Creek and Hiram T. 
Mackey 30 May 1907. All were buried in Union Highland Cemetery in Florence, 
Colorado.
