LAKE CITY.

    County seat of Hinsdale county, at the terminus of the Lake Fork branch of
    the Denver & Rio Grande railroad, 38 miles from Sapinero. The trading center
    and shipping point for Lake Galena, Park and Carson mining districts,
    including the tributary camps of Capitol City, Carson, Henson, Lake Shore,
    Rose's Cabin, Sherman and White Cross. Lake City is situated at an altitude
    of 8,500 feet, and is surrounded by some of the most magnificent scenery in
    the world.
    Population 1,000.
