He was born March 1, 1865 at Johnsboro, Tenn. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Annie Miller by three daughters, Mrs. Erma Towner of Grandview, Ida., Mrs. Ruth Boyle of Walsenburg and Mrs. Frances Scott of Springfield; and by two sons Lee A. Miller, Walsenburg, and John D. Miller of Denver. Also by one brother Charles of Hulen, Kentucky and three sisters, Mrs. Sara Shutts of Coal Creek, Tenn., Mrs. Ruth Roberts, Lynch, KY., and Mrs. Liza Brackett of Claybourne, Texas. Miller had been a resident of Herfano county since 1906, coming here from Fremont county. He worked for the Pryor Coal company here for 25 years and retired in 1937. Funeral annoucemnts will be made later thru the Unfug-Peet mortuary. Additional Comments: John Franklin Miller was born in Jacksboro, Campbell Co., TN to Alexander Miller and Emily Huckaby. He married first to Serelda Burris Daughtery 10 Feb 1897 in Anderson Co., TN and they had a daughter Mary. He worked as a coal miner in TN. Sometime after 1900 John moved to Colorado where he married Annie E. Mackey. He continued mining in Colorado where he was a supertindent. John and Annie had six children - five survived him.
