This cemetery was transcribed by DENNIS & BEV BAILEY in January of 2001.


The Foxton Cemetery is located south of Conifer, Colorado on the west side of 
U.S. Highway 285.  Traveling west from Denver on Highway 285, go 13 miles from 
C-470 past the junction of Highway 73 and the town of Conifer, Colorado.  
Travel another 4/10 of a mile to the intersection of Kennedy Gulch Road.  
Continue another 3/10 of a mile and before you pass the junction of South 
Foxton Road, the cemetery will be on your right, or west side of the road on 
top of a hill alongside the roadway.

The Foxton Cemetery was established as a community cemetery in the mid to late 
1870's and the first burial, according to gravestone transcriptions,  appears 
to have been in 1879.  The last burial here was in 1891.  There is no recorded 
owner or custodian but the cemetery is maintained.  There are only three 
legible stone markers and nine wooden crosses remaining.
