Cooper, former Golden young man, the son of Mr. and Mrs. George Cooper, now living in Fairmount, was instantly killed in Denver last Thursday morning, when his foot came in contact with a 4,000 volts of electricity. Cooper was hooked to a pole with a safety belt and did not fall from the pole. Cooper was one of a crew of linemen engaged in stringing new electric wires He was engaged in pulling slack when his foot touched the wire carrying the heavy current. Death was instantaneous. Another workman was on the same pole with Cooper when the accident occurred. The body was lowered to the ground at once, and artificial respiration was resorted to in an attempt to bring back signs of life, but without result. Cooper was born in Golden, and lived here until a few years ago. He was for a time employed by the telephone company and later went to Idaho Springs where he worked for a number of years with the electric light company. Some months ago he went to Denver and took a position with the Denver Gas & Electric Company. He was the youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. George Cooper, and was a splendid young man, and aside from his grief stricken relatives, his untimely death will be sincerely mourned by scores of friends. He was 28 years old and leaves a wife. He is also survived by his parents, one brother, Harry Cooper, of Idaho Springs, and two sisters, Hazel and Lilla.
