Reid rreid21@cox.net June 18, 2008, 8:47 pm Colorado Transcript (Golden, Jefferson Co.) Oct 2, 1930 Jessie Danford Dies Following Operation in Denver Hospital. Miss Jessie Danford, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C.M. Danford of Denver, died Monday evening in Porter sanatarium, following a spinal operation. Miss Danford has suffered from a spinal ailment for many years, yet through it all she was sweet and patient. She was born in Lennox, Ia., in March, 1887, and came to Colorado with her parents in 1891. She lived in Golden for 20 years, moving to Denver early this year, when her father severed his connection with the Jefferson County Republican. With her sister, Mazie Danford., she was one of the owners of the Danford Art Shoppe on Colfax avenue, Denver. She was a talented artist and interior decorator. She was member of the Methodist church, the Golden Rebekah lodge and the Golden Progressive club. She is survived by her parents, two sisters, Miss Mazie and Mrs. Harvey Mathews, and one brother, Frank Danford. Funeral services will be held from Olinger's at 3 o'clock this afternoon, with Rev. J.J. Lace and Reverend Ridings of Denver officiating. The burial services at Crown Hill will be in charge of the Golden Rebekah lodge. Members of the Rebekah lodge and the Progressive club will attend in a body.
