W. Harlan died at his home in Twin Lakes, Colo, June 23, of heart disease, aged 65. He was born in Lancaster Co., Pa., in 1822. In 1862 he enlisted with the first company from Guthrie Co., Iowa, in Co. C, 4th Iowa, as First Lieutenant. In 1878 he followed the flow of immigration to Leadville, where he resided until four years ago, moving then to Twin Lakes, 18 miles from Leadville. He was buried by the comrades of Garfield Post, of which he was a member. He leaves a wife and seven children.
