Marriage Certificate, issued 24 Jan 1898, filed 24 Jan 1898
Certificate No.:     30703

Marriage License, The State of Colorado, La Plata County
Know all men by this Certificate that any regularly ordained Minister of the 
Gospel, authorized by the rules and usages of the church or denomination of 
Christians, Hebrews, or religious body of which he may be a member, or any 
Judge or Justice of the Peace, to whom this may come, he not knowing of any 
lawful impediment thereto is hereby authorized and empowered to solemnize the 
Rites of Matrimony between Mr. Geo. W. Hafling of Durango of the County of La 
Plata and Ameilia Steinbrecher of Durango of the County of La Plata and to 
certify the same to said parties or either of them under his hand and seal in 
his ministerial or official capacity and thereupon he is hereby required to 
return his Certificate in form following, as hereto annexed.

Additional Comments:
Geo. W. is George William. Alternate spelling of bride's name as seen on other 
documents is Amelia. Both of them state on the certificate that they were 
previously married and their spouses were deceased. Research shows that this 
was George's third marriage. They were married by W.E. Collett, pastor of the 
1st M. E. Church.
