Hupp Family Cemetery, Larimer County, Colorado http://files.usgwarchives.net/co/larimer/cemeteries/hupp-cem.txt Donated by Duane Kniebes July 1, 2002 Location The Hupp Family Cemetery is in Beaver Meadows in Rocky Mountain National Park. It is about 300 feet north of Upper Beaver Meadows Road from a point about 0.2 of a mile from the beginning of the intersection of Upper Beaver Meadows Road (a dirt road) and the paved road leading to the Beaver Meadows Entrance Station. GPS coordinates are 40 degrees 22 minutes 19 seconds north, and 105 degrees 35 minutes 41 seconds west. Description of Cemetery The cemetery is marked by a single red granite headstone with the following inscription: HUPP FAMILY John Hupp Sept. 24, 1820 Dec. 29, 1877 Eliza E. Hupp Oct. 2, 1830 Sept. 17, 1900 Francis A. Hupp Sept. 24, 1853 Jan. 11, 1901 The headstone faces east, so it is perpendicular to Upper Beaver Meadows Road. In addition, as of February 2001, there is a small pine tree between the headstone and the road. Consequently, the headstone cannot be seen from the road. You may need the GPS reading to find it. Note that although the headstone at the Hupp Family Cemetery spells Fannie's name as "Francis," all of the other references to her spell her name as "Frances." The south-most burial is actually outside of the four metal stakes that mark the cemetery site: It is under the small pine tree that is south of the area marked by the stakes. ***************************************************************************** Contributed for use by the USGenWeb Project (http://www.usgenweb.org) Archives and by the COGenWeb Project Archives USGenWeb Project NOTICE: In keeping with our policy of providing free information on the internet, data may be used by non-commercial researchers, as long as this message remains on all copied material.
