Description of Cemetery The cemetery is surrounded by a 5-foot-tall white picket fence enclosing a 8-foot by 8-foot area. The cemetery contains two graves, each of which is marked by an inscribed headstone. The southern-most headstone (which appears to made of marble and which could be professionally inscribed) reads as follows: God is Love Our Darling [Carving of a bird, probably a dove] In Loving Memory of Gertrude Pittington Size of this grave indiates that Gertrude was about 4 or 5 years old. The northern-most headstone (hand inscribed local stone) reads as follows: Babe's at Rest Daughter of CM & SH Pittington Born April 12, 1910 Since there is only a birth date on her headstone, she probably either was still born or died shortly after birth. http://files.usgwarchives.net/co/laplata/cemeteries/manhattn.txt
