For some years he was associated with his father, and later with Lewis Brothers in the dry-goods business. His health failed, and in 1884 he joined his brother James in the stock industry in this state, and since then he has made his home here. He is vice-president of the Mesa County State Bank, of which he was one the founders. He is well and widely known throughout the West as a leading stock man and has for years been actively connected with the management of the American Cattle-Growers’ Association, being president of the local branch. In politics he is a Republican, but is not an active partisan; and in fraternal relations belongs to the Elks’ lodge at Grand Junction. Additional Comments: From Progressive Men of Western Colorado.
