Myers April 14, 1915 - May 26,2001 Christine M. Myers of Fruita, formerly of Longmont, died Saturday, May 26, 2001, at the Family Health West Nursing Home in Fruita. She was 86. She was born April 14, 1915, to Clements and Rosa (Dechant) Stadler in Ellis, Kan., where she spent her childhood and attended schools. On Oct 30, 1933, she married Robert Rhae Myers in Billings Mont. Mrs. Myers lived in Hyattville, Wyo.; Longmont; Lander, Wyo.; Cortez; and Montrose, prior to moving to Fruita in 1985. She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Grand Junction. She belonged to the Redlands Garden Club, the Redlands Women's Community Club, the Grand Junction Gem and Mineral Club and the German American Club. She enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening, crafts, fossil hunt, sewing, traveling, crocheting and quilt-making. Her special hobby was making gem trees and she loved to exhibit at the Mesa County Fair. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert, on Oct. 26, 1957; four brothers, Isadore, Joe, Albert and Clements Stadler and a grandson, Jared Stadelman. Mrs. Myers is survived by two sons, Robert B. Myers and his wife Shirley of Cortez and Harold "Wes" Myers and his wife Renee of Greeley; four daughters, Virginia Stadelman and her husband N. James of Grand Junction, Marion Appelhanz and her husband Tony of Montrose, Shirley Stadelman and her husband LeRoy of Loma, Colo., and Luella Hermanns Fields and her husband Nick of Elkhart Kan.; four brothers, Adam Stadler of Denver, Jacob Stadler of Fort Lupton and Leo Stadler of Brighton; three sisters, Emma Von Feldt of Brighton, Mary Drieling of Imperial, Neb., and Rosie Riechmeier of Fort Lupton; 20 grandchildren, Catherine Kennedy, Yvonne Alves, Robert M. Myers, James R. Stadelman, Janice Stadelman, Matt Appelhanz, Amy VanDyke, Tracy Reed, Laura Appelhanz, Steve Stadelman, Don Stadelman, Mary Raymond, David Stadelman, Andy Stadelman, Phil Hermanns, Lisa Epley, Jeff Hermanns, Chuck Hermanns, Sarah Brown and Ben Myers; and 37 great-grandchildren. Mass of the Resurrection will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 1st, 2001 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church with the Rev. Brian Morrow as celebrant. Interment will take place at Longmont Mountain View Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Unit, Family Health West, 228 North Cherry, Fruita CO 81521.
