Jul 2000 Obit- Goff, Cleola Maye Dean, Montezuma County, Colorado Donated by Tom Vaughan, Editor: The Mancos Times-Tribune ____________________________________________________________________ CLEOLA MAYE GOFF Funeral services for longtime Mancos resident, Cleola Maye Goff were held Saturday, July 22, 2000, at the Mancos First Baptist Church beginning at 10 a.m. Interment followed at the Cedar Grove Cemetery. Pastor Jimmie Burton officiated. Cleola was born the daughter of Elmer Walker Dean and Margamia Maye (Cauler) Goff on Sept. 25, 1930, in Big Spring, Texas. She passed away at San Juan Regional Medical Center on Monday, July 17, 2000, at the age of 69. On Feb. 10, 1947, Cleola became the bride of Charles Oliver Goff in Aztec, N.M. Cleola was a devoted wife and mother, she loved cooking and camping. She was a member of the Mancos First Baptist Church and the John Derrick Halls VFW Post 5231 Ladies Auxiliary. Surviving Cleola is her husband of 53 years, Charles Goff of Mancos; and her children, Carol Ann Denton of Mancos, David Edward and Linda Goff of Mancos, Deana Maye and Mike Smith of Mancos, Celia Jon and Steve Boyd, of Mancos, and Edythe Kay and Steve Hurst of Mancos. Two sons Darryl Glenn Goff and Clayton Lloyd Goff preceded her in death in 1975. 13 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; and four brothers, Paul Dean of Crawford, Colo., Geary Dean also of Crawford, Edward Fox of Desert Center, Calif., and Elmer Dean Jr., also survive Cleola. Memorial contributions can be made in memory of Cleola Goff at the Mancos Valley Bank.
