Campbell Called by Death on Friday Evening Heart trouble causes the death of John Woodard Campbell Friday evening about six o'clock after an illness of some time. Mr. Campbell was born in Preston, MO., November 22, 1855, being at the time of his death a few months past sixty-eight years of age. Mr. Campbell was married December 24, 1876 to Barbara Catherine Head in Missouri and to them was born eleven children who survive their father. Mrs. Campbell also survives him. Mr. and Mrs. Campbell have made their home in Montrose county for forty years, coming to this city about two years ago from Vanadium. The purchased a home at 429 N. Ninth and have been living there. Mr. Campbell and his family have many friends all over the county who will regret his passing and join in sympathizing with the bereaved relatives. Mr. Campbell is survived by a brother, Jasper Campbell of Delta, a sister, Mrs. Mary Harder in Benton, Oregon, his wife and eleven children who are Mrs. Mary Belle Pisel of Phoenix, Ariz., Edward, A. W., Claude, Jesse and Rolla Campbell, Mrs. Gladys Sandarson, Mrs. Bessie Culver, all of Montrose. Mrs. Edith Ross of Vanadium. Mrs Lula Howard of Gunnison and Mrs. Myrtle Meyers of Delta. Mr. Campbell had been a farmer all of his life until ill health caused him to retire from actively engaging in this occupation. He was a member of the Christian church and faithfully followed its teachings. He was admired and liked by all who knew him. White and Pond Mortuary is charge of the body.
