She was 82 years of age. Mrs. Clements succumbed to a lengthy illness of cancer. A Graveside service is scheduled for Friday, February 3, 1995 at 11:00 am in the Nucla Cemetery, Nucla, Colorado, Reverend Wayne Thompson, pastor of the Norwood Baptist Church will officiate he services. Cremation preceded the services, with the internment following the memorial rites. Mrs. Clements was born on March 31, 1912, to David and Phoebe Merriman Williams, in Coventry, Colorado. She spent her childhood there, and attended school in Coventry, with her five brothers and sisters and her parents. During World War II, May worked in a defense plant located in Shelton, Washington. On December 23, 1954, Elizabeth May Williams married Homer Clements in Moab, Utah. During their lives together, they lived in Naturita, on Atkinson’s Mesa during the 1960’s and enjoyed their lives for 30 years. Homer passed away on November 5, 1988 in Naturita. May enjoyed cooking, especially making homemade candy, embroidery, sewing, reading nursery rhymes to her nieces, and when May was a child, she was very athletic, and could easily out run all the boys she grew up with. May and homer were members of the Nucla Moose Lodge # 635. Mrs. Elizabeth May Clements is survived by: a brother and sister-in-law, James “Jim” and Marcine Williams of Redvale, CO., A sister: Mildred Bauer, of Grand Junction, CO. Three double cousins: Al Williams of Norwood, CO; Bob Williams of Grand Junction, CO.; and Birdie Deal of Cortez, Co. and numerous nieces and nephews. Two brothers: Bill and John, and a sister: Florence Ayers preceded her in death. Memorial Contributions may be made, in lieu of flowers, to the Hospice of the Grand Valley, 2784 Crossroads Blvd. Grand Junction, CO 81506.
