Lewis who owns a farm near Holyoke has a simple and yet very effective way of getting rid of the surplus water in the lagoons in his cultivated fields. He digs a hole at the lowest point in the lagoon till he reaches gravel and then fills the hole with sand and gravel. He says this plan disposes of all the surplus water and he is able to raise a good crop on his lagoons. In giving account of the sale of the Sutherland lumber yards in the last issue, we were mistaken in saying that the purchaser was the Kansas Lumber company. It was the Central Lumber Company. Mr. and Mrs. M.D. Copp and daughter, Mildred, returned last week from an extended visit in states east of here. Mr. Copp has purchased a residence property in Holyoke and the family are to be residents of our town. He has moved the building back on the lots and will build an addition to the building.
