Wanamaker and Miss Bertha Weir were joined in happy wedlock and immediately left for the home in Imperial, Nebraska. I earnestly pray God that their way through life may be such as will honor God and bless them. Mrs. Wanamaker was raised here and is known to us all and many are the good wishes that follow her into her new life. Mr. Wanamaker is unknown to the writer but nevertheless I like his appearance. May God abundantly bless them. -- J.T. Jenkins SUTHERLAND - BUTLER At Sterling on Wednesday evening October 28, H. Sutherland and Mrs. May Butler both of this county were married. The bride has resided in this county for a few years, coming first to Holyoke from Red Oak, Iowa and for a time conducted a restaurant in Holyoke and when she sold that, she filed on a quarter of land southwest of Holyoke as a homestead where she was making her home with her little son. During the time she has resided in the county, she has made many friends whose best wishes are with her for a happy married life. H. Sutherland is one of the early settlers of our town and for years was one of our foremost business men till he recently sold his lumber yard. He has a host of friends throughout the county whose best wishes he has. Page Four G.W. Dougherty and wife of York, Nebraska were in Holyoke this week looking after land interests in the county. Charles Harris and Charley Patmon have purchased a five passenger automobile and returned from Denver with it last Tuesday. One day last week a fine boy arrived at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Howard Brown of Holyoke. Miss Mamie Arens is quite sick with typhoid fever. Mr. and Mrs. Claude Harmon of Wray were in Holyoke today. Mr. and Mrs. Roy Chaney of Haxtun were in Holyoke Wednesday. Ed Hethcote has commenced work on the bridge across the Frenchman north of town. Mr. and Mrs. Loren Fair came down from Sterling Tuesday for a short visit with relatives. The Central Lumber Co., is having another big lumber shed built in the Holyoke yard. Mr. and Mrs. R.N. White returned Monday from Chicago where he had been receiving medical treatment. Oscar LeBlanc came home last week from Denver, where he is attending school, to spend a few days at home. Mr. and Mrs. Cliff Harmon and Cleve Glover came home Thursday from Greeley where they had been for some time. Mrs. A.L. Gaddy and son of Holdrege, Nebraska, visited the first of the week with her parents Mr. and Mrs. Eaton of Holyoke.
