U.S. Navy veteran of World War I. Farmed the Vineland and Avondale area from 1915 until 1942, employed from 1942 until retiring in 1962 as a security guard att Pueblo Army Depot. Macartney Rouch Funeral Home Macartney--Alfred M. Macartney of 2809 Pine, passed away at local hospital, Monday, April 27 1970. Father of Brian D. Macartney, Pueblo and grandfather of John, Ann, James and Paul Maccartney, all of Pueblo. He was the husband of Mrs. Hazel A. Macartney, who passed away Feb. 3, 1970. Thiry-five year member of the International Association of Machinists and member and past exalted ruler of BPO Elks Lodge 808, Salida. Resident of Salida for 13 years before returning to Pueblo in 1957. Employed by D&RGW Railroad until his retirement in 1962. Graveside services will be conducted at Pueblo Memorial Gardens at 11 a.m. Thursday with Rev. Fred Johnson officiating, followed by Elks service conducted by BPO Elks 90, Pueblo, in courtesy to the Salida Lodge. Mouning, Fort Collins; grandmother of four, aunt of Mr. Betty Lou Colby, San Jose, Calif., and Mrs. Marilyn Reed, Boulder City, Calif. Member of the First Presbyterian Chuch, life member and past president of Chapter F. PEO, life member of Pueblo Service League, and member of Phi Gamma Beta Sorority and the TB Club. Mrs. Mourning was a lifetime resident having been born in Pueblo, Nov 18, 1892. She was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. A. R. Pierce, founders of Pierce Seed Co.
