Paul G. GROUT, of Pueblo, born May 2, 1941, departed this life on Aug. 3, 1997. He is survived by his parents, Paul W. and Hilda GROUT; sister, Merry (Joe) CASTOR of Rancho Palos Verdes, Calif.; wife, Patricia GROUT; children, Steven GROUT of the family home, Dave (Liz) GROUT, of Anaheim, Calif., Vicki (Daryl) MURPHY, Moriarty, N.M.; grandchildren, Cynthia SMITH, Jeff SMITH, Dylan GROUT; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Mr. GROUT was employed by the Colorado Department of Transportation since 1962 as a land surveyor, he was a member of the following organizations: American Congress on Surveying and Mapping, Institute of Navigation, Professional Land Surveyors of Colorado (SCPLS), Elks BPOE Lodge No. 90, Advisor for the University of Southern Colorado Survey Program, Advisor for Trinidad Junior College Survey Program and many other organizations. Paul, a member of the Disciples of Christ (Christian) Church, served in various leadership positions. He also served as a volunteer for many years for Boy Scouts of America. Funeral Service, Thursday, 3 p.m., Imperial Funeral Home Chapel. Internment, Imperial Memorial Gardens. Viewing, Wednesday, 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. The body will lie in state before service, Thursday, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Paul GROUT Memorial Fund (SCPLS), 2301 N.
