Tease accidentally fell into the abandoned Mary McKinney mine about 2.2 miles south of Cripple Creek. His body was located with a camera at the 880-foot level, but it was deemed too dangerous to recover. The mine was filled in and sealed with concrete. The following plaque was placed by his family near the entrance: Here Lies Our Beloved Son, Brother, and Fianc‚ WAYNE B. TEASE 8-2-62 4-27-86 "REMEMBER ME" The marker is on property owned by the Cripple Creek and Victor Gold Mining Company. The area is filled with old, dangerous mines and cannot be entered without the company's permission. =================================================== Contributed for use by the USGenWeb Archive Project (http://www.usgenweb.org) and by the COGenWeb Archive Project USGENWEB NOTICE: These electronic pages may NOT be reproduced in any format for profit or presentation by other organization or persons.
