Addison A. Andrews, who for the past eighteen years made his home there and has enjoyed the love and respect of all his neighbors and friends, was the one to fall before the sickle of the harvester, who in time gathers all to the Maker. Mr. Andrews had been a sufferer from dropsy for some time, but had apparently recovered and was thought to be out of danger, when a change for the worse came and he was confined to his bed only a few days until death claimed him. Grandpa Andrews, as he was familiarly called by all his friends, and his circle of friends was the entire circle of his acquaintance, was loved by all who knew him and was a kind husband and father and a good neighbor and was ever ready with a helping hand for those who needed his help and sympathy. The respect in which he was held was shown by the large concourse of people who followed his earthly remains to their last resting place. We miss the father everywhere; We miss thy loving face. Thy chair is vacant by the hearth; There is none to fill thy place. Safe in the arms of Jesus, Safe on His gentle breast, Freed from a world of suffering, Christ has given the rest. Obituary Addison A. Andrews was born in Putnam county, Ohio, February 25, 1848 and died at his home near Idalia, Colorado, May 27, 1915. He united with the Christian church at an early age and lived a devoted Christian life. He was united in marriage to Lucretia E. Hamilton, Nov. 18, 1869, and to the union were born nine children, eight of whom are living. He, with his family, came to Colorado in 1897 and has made his home in Yuma county ever since. He leaves to mourn his loss the wife, one sister and one brother, and the eight children mentioned: C.W. Andrews of Denver, Oscar Andrews and Mrs. P.G. Gardner of Idalia, Ed Andrews of Hermes, Walter Andrews of Landsman, Mrs. M.B. Royer of Larkin, Kansas, Mrs. O.W. Nash of Eckley, Colorado and Mrs. C. Sharp of Stratton, Colorado. We join with the many friends of the bereaved ones in extending them our sincerest sympathy.
