Gearhart. Funeral services were conducted Sunday afternoon at the Presbyterian church by Rev. Frederick Nichol and burial was in the Yuma cemetery. The Ritchey Funeral Home had charge of the arrangements. Mary Grace Cross, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Gearhart, was born on September 2, 1895, near Summerfield, Kansas, and departed this life at Yuma December 17, 1943, at the age of 48 years, three months and 15 days. On November 26, 1912, she was united in marriage to Clarence Cross at Imperial, Nebraska, moving to a farm on the Arickaree northwest of Joes, where she had since resided. To this union two children were born: a daughter, Luella, who preceded her in death in 1936, and a son, Harlan, who served as a lieutenant in the United States army for four years and was honorably discharged on August 3, 1943. Since that time he had been constantly at the bedside of his mother.
