Gearhart Mrs. George Gearhart died of dropsy at her home in this city early last Friday morning. She had been suffering with heart trouble for the past several months and although not confined to her bed she was in a very weakened condition. Thursday night she retired as usual and conversed with her sons about midnight. When her husband attempted to awaken her early the next morning it was discovered that she had passed away. The funeral services were held at the Methodist church in this city Sunday, Mary 17, pastor Rev. Joseph Antle officiating, and the interment was at the Yuma cemetery. Rosa Bracelin Gearhart was born at St. Paul, Kansas, September 16, 1869, and departed this life at her home in Yuma, May 15, 1925, aged 55 years, 7 months and 29 days. She moved with her parents from St. Paul to Marshall county, Kansas, when but 2 years of Age. Her mother passing away when she was but 12 years of age, she remained with her father and kept his home until the time of her marriage to George Gearhart, in the year 1891. She moved with her husband's family to Colorado in 1914 and settled on a homestead in Washington county, near Cope. In 1921 the family moved to a farm north of Yuma, where they resided until last year when they moved to this city. She leaves to mourn her passing, her husband and seven children-- three sons and four daughters--Charles, residing near Yuma; George and James, who are at home; Mrs. Clarence Cross, residing near Cope, Colorado; Mrs. James Beverly, residing south of Yuma, Mrs. Harry Cecil, of Yuma, and Pearl who is at home. Also three brothers--John Bracelin, of Goodland, Kansas, James Bracelin, of St. Francis, Kansas, and William, of Portland, Oregon--and one sister--Mrs. Sarah Mangel of Denver. Two of the brothers and the sister were present at the funeral, the brother residing at Portland being unable to reach here. Of the relatives who came from a distance to attend the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. I. O. Gearhart of Denver, Mrs. Annie Birdsell of Carlton, Nebraska, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Gallagher of Denver, Ernest Gearhart and Mrs. Eva Gearhart of Fort Morgan, Colorado. Life will never be quite the same to those who knew her, while those who were nearest to her will long for her with unutterable longings-- long for a mother's counsel and advice, and a wife's gentle and loving sympathy. Well may the husband and children cherish her memory as a precious legacy. We will weep for the days that come no more, For the sunbeam gone from the heart and door; For the missing step, for a nameless grace, For a mother's form, for a mother's face; But not for the soul whose crown is won, Whose infinite joy has just begun; Not for the spirit enrobed in light, Crowned where the angels are tonight.
