She has suffered many years with dropsy and death was caused by that disease affecting the brain, together with resulant complications. She was born in Gelmershelm, Bavaria, November 25, 1843, her maiden name being Hedwig Kunkel, and was married to Mr. Heindel in 1868. They came here among our earliest settlers, and she has faithfully born her part in building up this community, bearing all its hardships and sharing its success. She leaves a husband, three sons and a daughter to mourn the loss of wife and mother. Her husband was away at work and her daughter married and living in Idaho, and were unable to attend the funeral. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. Stolp of Haigler (NE). Additional Comments: Husband was John Phillip Heindel. Children were William Heindel, Elizabeth Pein, John Phillip Jr., Thomas and Martin.
