Stamford Soldiers' Memorial 1869
  GEORGE D. FEEKS, Co. B, 17th Conn., son of John and Jane Feeks. After being
taken a prisoner at Welaka, Florida, he was sent from one southern prison to
another, until at Florence he contracted the disease of which he died May 1865,
at the Navy Hospital, Annapolis, Md. He left a wife and one child. The child is
now in Fitch's Soldiers' Home.
