A, 28th Conn., one of the three sons of Joseph Lower, who volunteered. He was sick in hospital at Baton Rouge, and is reported in the "Catalogue of the Connecticut Volunteer Force," as honorably discharged, Aug. 28, 1863. He was taken to New Orleans and put on board a transport with other invalid soldiers to be taken home, and has not since been heard from.
