B, 17th Conn., a ward of Thomas S. Hall, entered earnestly into the service and had a good record. With so many others of his company he was captured, May 19, 1864, and sent to Andersonville. On the approach of Sherman he was sent to Florence where he perished, a martyr to the Union cause, Jan. 1, 1865, but not before he had received a medal for meritorious service in the field.
