Stamford Soldiers' Memorial 1869
  GILBERT SCOFIELD, Co. A, 28th Conn., son of Seth Scofield, was taken with the
fever while on the Mississippi, and was obliged to stop on the way home with the
regiment, Aug. 18, 1863, at Cleveland, where he died on the 25th of the same month.
