A, 2Sth Conn., son of Levi Sherwood, was another victim to the exposures of camp life on the Mississippi. He was left in hospital at Algiers, May 24th, according to N. W. Hoyt's diary, and died according to captain Charles Brown's report, July 30, 1863, at Port Hudson, where he was buried. He left a family here. He was in the twenty-eighth year of his age.
