A, 28th Conn., son of Henry and Lois Wardell. He was one of the three representatives of the town, who were killed in the unsuccessful assault made on Port Hudson, June 14, 1863. He was only twenty-two years of age, when he thus laid himself, a victim on the altar of his zeal for the cause which he served.
