It is always best to consult the original material for verification. ************************************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Cheryl Harmon Bills cherylbills@gmail.com May 29, 2007, 2:04 pm Suffield; Wolfe Pitt Plains Written: May 16, 1712 Know all men by these presents whom it may or doth concern that I, James Lawton of the town of Suffield in the County of Hampshire in the Province of the Massachusetts Bay in New England with the free consent of Faith, my wife, diverse cause and considerations me thereunto moving, but especially for and in consideration end have given, granted, made over, conveyed and confirmed by these presents do fully and freely and absolutely give, grant, bargain, and make make over, convey and confirm unto Nathaniel Harmon the Second of the Town of Suffield aforesaid, husbandman--twenty acres of second division land being one half of the forty acres of second division land laid out to Mr. John Younglove, deceased and lying and being situated within the township of Suffield aforesaid. Easterly or southeasterly of the Plains commonly called the Wolfe Pitt Plains, the above twenty acres of land be it more or less, as it is described by its boundary eastwards of land laid out unto Nathaniel Harmon Senior and Timothy Hale and bounding Easterly upon them; the northeast corner bounder is the northwest corner bounder of the above Nathaniel Harmon’s land and the southeast corner bounder is the southwest corner bounder of the above said Hale’s land and bounding westwardly upon the other half of the above said forty acres of land laid out to said John Younglove now in possession of Samuel Younglove and bounded at the southwest and northwest corners next said Samuel Younglove with stake and stones--to have and to hold the said granted and bargained premises with all the privileges, profits, accommodations and appurtenances thereupon as thereunto belonging or in any way appertaining unto him the said Nathaniel Harmon, his heirs and assigns forever to his and their only proper use, benefit and behalf forever and I, the said James Lawton, for me, my heirs, executors, administrators do covenant, promise, and grant it before ye as a good perfect and absolute estate of inheritance in fee simple and have in my self good right, full power and lawful authority to give, grant, and bargain, sell, convey, and confirm in manner aforesaid and that it shall and may be lawful to and for the said Nathaniel Harmon his heirs and assigns from time to time to him and to all his forever after by ... and virtue ... of these presents peaceably and quietly to have, hold, use, occupy, possess and enjoy the said bargained premises free and clear and freely and clearly acquitted, exonerated, and discharged from all and all manners of former and other gifts grants, sales, titles, ... ... ... ... deeds, mortgages ... .... judgments, executions, encumbrances & ex.... And furthermore I, the said, James Lawton do for myself, my heirs, person or persons whatsoever hereafter do warrant, secure, and defend.
