Military Enlisted in the Continental Army as a private for a nine-month term, when he was 15 years of
age. Altogether, he
served three terms in the army over a period of 2 1/2 years. Jared re-enlisted 15 May 1780 and again
in 1 Feb 1781.  He was
discharged at Danbury, CT on 12 Jan 1783.
