(McMahon) Anton Evelyn J. (McMahon) Anton, 76, of Manchester, widow of Richard F. Anton, died peacefully Friday, April 27, 2001, at Manchester Memorial Hospital. Born in Willimantic, June 17, 1924, she had been a resident of Manchester for the past 50 years. Evelyn was a graduate of the Bridgeport Hospital School of Nursing and had been an RN at the Leahy Clinic in Boston during the late 1940s. She was a parishioner of St. Bridget Church, Manchester, a volunteer at Manchester Memorial Hospital, and a member of the hospital auxiliary. Evelyn was an avid bridge player, enjoyed gardening, and was a dedicated 10-pin bowler. She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Richard W. And JoAnn Anton of Shelton, and John F. and Debra Anton of Manchester; her daughter and son-in-law, Kathleen C. and Eric Sinnamon of Manchester; two sisters, Dorothy Uhlig of Florida and Carolyn Thiel of New Jersey, and many nieces and nephews. She was a loving grandmother to five grandchildren, Jeffrey, Kate, and John Sinnamon, and David and Cassandra Anton. Besides her husband, she was predeceased by two brothers and a sister. Evelyn will be dearly missed by her family and many close lifelong friends. The funeral service will be held at 9:15 a.m.Tuesday, May 1, at the Watkins Funeral Home, 142 E. Center St., Manchester, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Bridget Church, 80 Main St., Manchester. Burial will be in St. Bridget Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, April 30, at the funeral home.
