Barbara B. Aseltine



Barbara B. Aseltine, beloved wife of 58 years of Dr. Deal T. Aseltine Jr., departed this 

life on Friday, April 20, 2001, in Wethersfield.



Born in Hartford, Dec. 14, 1916, the daughter of the late Chester K. and Hildagarde (Washburn) 

Bronson, Barbara grew up in Wethersfield and Rockville, and graduated from Rockville High 

School in 1934. She worked at Connecticut General, where she met her lifelong friend, Janet 

Churchill. She was an avid doll collector, volunteered at Newington Children's Hospital, and 

worked in her husband's office. Her greatest love was her family.



A devoted wife and loving mother, Barbara leaves her husband and four children, Lynn Belizi of 

Waterbury, Vt., Deal Aseltine III and his wife, Kristine, of Wethersfield, Chester Aseltine and 

his wife, Karen, of Union, and Christopher Aseltine and his wife, Lynn, of Rocky Hill. Her kind 

and gentle spirit will be greatly missed by her 13 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. 

She was predeceased by her granddaughter, Alyson Barbara Belizi.



The funeral will be private, with burial at Rose Hill Memorial Park, Rocky Hill.



Calling hours will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today, April 23, at Rose Hill Funeral Home, 580 Elm St.,

Rocky Hill.
