Litchfield County Superior Court, February Term 1781.  Andrew Adams, State 
Attorney in & for the County of Litchfield here present in Court complains, 
informs and gives ye said Court to understand that Asa Affrica of Goshen in 
said County did at Litchfield in said County on or about ye 28th day of Nov. 
last past wickedly and traitorously (did) use his influence to persuade & 
induce one Grigg a Negro servant to Thos. Sheldon of said Litchfield, Caesar, a 
Negro servant to Alexxander Thomson of said Litchfield  (all of said Litchfield)
to join, aid, comfort & assist ye enemies of this and ye rest of ye United 
States of America & ye said Asa then and there also had knowledge of one James 
Weldon of Woodbury in said County & divers other persons using their influence 
as aforesaid to persuade and induce ye aforesaid Grigg, Caesar and Joseph to 
join, aid, comfort & assist ye aforesaid enemies & did then & there wickedly, 
willfully and traitorously conceal such his knowledge: all which is against ye 
peace & contrary to ye form, force & effect of a certain statute law of this 
State in such case made & provided intitled..An Act for ye punishment of High 
Treason & other atrocious crimes against ye State..and ye said Attorney prays 
the advice of this honored Court in ye premises.  (signed) Andrew Adams
