   DIED, in Washington, Connecticut, on the 8th of August, MRS. PHOEBE 

MITCHELL, aged 93 years. MRS. MITCHELL'S maiden name was Eliot, and she was a 

descendant in the fifth generation of JOHN ELIOT, "Apostle to the Indians." 

She was the widow of ABNER MITCHELL, and the mother of the late DR. MITCHELL.
