Know ye that I the above s'd Nathaniel STEEVENS for and Consideration of the Sum of Fifteen pounds, Current Money, to me in hand before the ensealing behoof, ___ and _____, to be paid by Robert CARTER of Guilford in the County of New Haven in the Colony afores'd Tenor, the Receipt hereof I do hereby Acknowledge, and my Self therewith fully satisfied and contented, and thereof and of every part and perisle? Thereof, do Exonerate ______and discharge the s'd Robert CARTER, his heirs and assigns, for Ever by these presents Have given granted bargained sold Alienated Conveyed and Confirmed and by these presents do freely fully and absolutely, give grant Bargain Sale Alien Convey and Confirm, unto him the s'd Robert CARTER his Heirs and assigns for-Ever, one parcel or Tract of Orchard Land and Swamp, Situate and Lying in the Township of Guilford above s'd Containing by Estimation Two acres and a half, be it more or less, as it is bounded Easterly by the Land of James HOOKER, and Southerly by the Land of John HILL, and westwardly by ye highway, and Northerly by the Land of John Sasentum?, To Have and To Hold, the s'd granted and bargained premises with the appurtenances, previlidges and commadations there unto belonging, or in any ways appertaining to him the Robert CARTER his Heirs and Assigns for-Ever, to him and their only proper use benefit and behoof for-Ever and I the s'd Nathaniel STEEVENS, for my Heirs for me my Heirs Execut's and administrators, do Covenant prommis and grant to and with the s'd Robert CARTER his Heirs and assigns, that before ensealing here of I am the Sole true and Lawfull owner of the above bargained premises, and am Lawfully Seized and possessed of the Land, in my own proper Right, at a good and absolute Estate of Inheritance in fee Simple, and have in my Self good full proper and Lawfull authority to grant bargain Sell Convey & Confirm s'd Bargained premises, as of about s'd and the above s'd Robert Carter, his Heirs and Assigns, Shall and May from time to time and at all times for-Ever hereafter, by force and ___ of these presents, Lawfully peasably quietly, have hold and occupy prossess and Enjoy, De___ed and bargained and granted premises, with the appurtenances, free and Clear, and freely and Clearly Acquitted Exonerated and discharged, of from all and all manner of former, and other, Gifts Grants Bargains Sales Leases Mortgage Wills Intails Joynters Dowryes Judgments Exocutions Incumbrances Extonts, further-more I the s'd Nathaniel STEEVENS, for my Self my Heirs Execut's and administrat's, do covonant and Ingage, the above premises to him the s'd Robert CARTER his Heirs and Assigns, against the lawfull Claims or demands of any person or persons for-Ever, hereafter to Warrant Se__ and defend; I Witness whereof, I the above s'd Nathaniel STEEVENS, have hereunto Set my hand and Seal, this Twenty fourth of Aprill, in the Second year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord, King George, by the Grace of God King of England, Defender of the faith, and in the year of our Lord God, Seventeen hundred and Sixteen.
