Peters, and their 2 children (Mary Ann, aged 2, and Amelia, aged 4 months), on expense. Also Mary Deming, widow of Isaac N. Deming. All are colored. Feb. 12, 1867: Lebanon to Manchester. John O. Peters never was an inhabitant of Lebanon. Nov. 23, 1838: Hartford to Lebanon. Ludwid Hauerwas, a German, with his family, has applied for assistance. Dec. 1, 1838: Lebanon to Hartford. We are willing to meet our obligations concerning the Hauerwas family. Are they trying to help themselves? How many children are with them? Dec. 9, 1868: Hartford to Lebanon. The Hauerwas family has five children at home. Lincoln is sick with scarlet fever, the rest of the children with symptoms of it. Hauerwas cannot get along on his crutches and will not be able to do much work through the winter. Mar. 10, 1869: Columbia to Lebanon. Henry Tattoo, a colored man or mulatto, is sick and on expense. Mar. 27, 1869: Lebanon to Columbia. Henry Tattoo lost his settlement with his mother by her marriage and is thus not an inhabitant of Lebanon. Aug. 26, 1869: Colchester to Lebanon. Abrham Marchant, colored, son of Jacob Marchant, is on expense at our alms house. Aug, 30, 1869: Hartford to Lebanon. Mr. L. Hauerwas is in a very precarious state of health; physicians say that there are strong symptoms of insanity unless he is attended to at once. He should be placed in the Retreat. Aug. 9, 1869: Hartford to Lebanon. Ludwig Hauerwas growing worse and more despondent daily. Dec. 13, 1869: Windham to Lebanon. Albert Brown, a colored man, is sick and on expense. Jan. 5, 1870: Lebanon to Windham. Albert Brown is not an inhabitant. Apr. 9, 1870: Hartford to Lebanon. Father Hawley is not helping the Hauerwas family any more, and they have applied to us for help. Aug. 18, 1870: Hartford to Lebanon. Bill for supplies for L. Hauerwas. .
