Colchester, Town Treasurer's Records, 1797-1805:

Oct. 1799         George Cullum billed town for keeping Artin, a black child, 
                     for 18 weeks to Oct. 5, 1799
                  
Jan. 1799         Joseph Skinner billed town for taking a Negro child of two 
                     years and a half old belonging to the town of Colchester 
                     to bring up to 21 years of age

Dec. 2, 1799      pd George Cullum for keeping Artin, a black child, Oct. 7-
                     Nov. 2; making 2 shifts, petticoat & loose gown
                  
Nov. 1799         indentures written for John, mulatto boy

Sept. 21, 1799    Roger Bulkeley billed town for boarding 3 days the black boy
                     Joseph Skinner took
