William married Sarah Wheaton of this town. I don't know whom Alvin married; his widow (now married, I think) now lives in Deerfield, Mass. William Trim's wife, of whom I wrote to you, is very (destitute) in consequence of her husband having left her; she soon after gave birth to a child, and she and her child are now at our poor houzse. I have learned that there is another child, one she had before she married Trim. No date: Bozrah to Lebanon. George Trim, the grandfather of William, gained a residence here, but Alvin, the father of William, became 21 before his father gained his residence. I cannot learn that Alvin ever lived in any town in this state after becoming 21 more than 2 or 3 years at a time, and William is not old enough to have gained a residence since he became of age. Jan. 18, 1859: Lebanon to Norwich. A mulatto boy calling himself John Boyd, a bastard son of Betsy Thompson, is on expense. /John Henry Hancock is not an inhabitant of this town. It appears that the letter was written thinking it would prevent her from gaining a settlement in Mansfield. Apr. 29, 1859: Coventry to Lebanon. Bill for supporting John A. Jacobs Jan. 1, 1858 to Mar. 29, 1859, May 19, 1859: Franklin to Lebanon. John Babcock on expense. June 4, 1859: Coventry to Lebanon. John A. Jacobs on expense. John Stark left this town more than 40 years ago, so we claim that he and his children have no settlement in this town. Nov. 3, 1859: Lebanon to East Lyme. Bill for burial expense for Caroline Beckwith. Dec. 30, 1859: Windham to Lebanon. Silas L. Rouse sick and on expense.
