Children of George Dennison living in this town; destitute and not attending school. Jan. 23, 1860: Norwich to Lebanon. Bill for supplies furnished to John Henry Hancock. Jan. 24, 1860: Hartford to Lebanon. Charlotte Singleton, a colored woman, daughter of John Singleton, lost a daughter named Jane, about 15 years of age, on the 18th instant. We notified Windham, but they say she belongs to your town. Jan. 31, 1860: Norwich to Lebanon. The divorced wife of John Babcock and her 2 children, one an infant, the other quite young, on expense. Feb. 2, 1860: Windham to Lebanon. Bill for support of Ann Beckwith, alias Ann Pierce, Aug. 2 to Nov. 1, 1858; to supporting her June 24, 1859 to Jan. 22, 1869; funeral expenses. Feb. 4, 1860: Lebanon to Norwich. Neither John Babcock nor his wife (now divorced) are inhabitants of Lebanon; belong to Franklin. Feb. 13, 1860: East Haddam to Lebanon. Samuel Powers on expense; he found his way to Mr. Meach's again on Saturday without shoes and almost without clothing. Feb. 27, 1860: Lebanon to Windham. Ann Beckwith, alias Ann Pierce, is not an inhabitant of Lebanon. /Acknowledge receipt of payment of bill for George Denison's children. Mar. 14, 1860: Lebanon to East Haddam. Forbid the town of East Haddam from harboring or trusting Samuel Powers; refusal to pay his bills. No date, Hartford to Lebanon. Bill for burial of Jane Singleton (dated Jan. 18, 1860) and supplies furnished to William Sisson (dated June 25, 1860). Aug. 25, 1860: Coventry to Lebanon. Truman Jacob on expense. Notation, no date: Truman Jacob lived in Canterbury 18 years; left 3 years ago. Bought a house, paid taxes, has children in Canterbury. Had a conservator there. Sept. 22, 1860: East Haddam to Lebanon. Samuel Powers is again in this town on expense. If he is permitted to come here and remain here, as he has done for 3 or 4 weeks past, you must pay expenses. Oct. 3, 1860: Colchester to Lebanon. Dan Hyde on expense; in a very helpless condition in consequence of rheumatism. Oct. 30, 1860: Hartford to Lebanon. Charlotte Singleton, her mother, and a brother, Nelson, are all in Hartford. They say they moved from Windham to Lebanon (Liberty Hill) and lived there 10 years in Abel Gay's house all the time excepting a few months that they lived in another house in Lebanon while Gay's house was undergoing repairs. They then moved to Columbia and stayed there a little over one year and then moved here a year ago last spring. They say they were never helped by the town of Lebanon. Charlotte is 43 years old, and her daughter Jane that died would have been 15 years old the 4th of last March had she lived. Mrs. Gay, the widow of Abel, will confirm. Dec. 14, 1860: Hartford to Lebanon. William Sisson and 2 children, Lydia and Eugene, on expense. He has been sick. Jan. 7, 1861: Montville to Lebanon. Harvey Halsey, a child of Frances Darrow, formerly Frances Brown, is on expense. Aug. 24, 1861: Preston to Lebanon. Delight Snow, widow of Edward Snow, is destitute and on expense. Sept. 10, 1861: Lebanon to Preston. Delight Snow was never an inhabitant. Nov. 4, 1861: Windham to Lebanon. Bill for support of Silas L. Rouse, an insane person. Nov. 14, 1861: Lebanon to Windham. Silas L. Rouse not an inhabitant. Nov. 12, 1861: Chaplin to Lebanon. Mrs. Polly Lockwood, widow of Joseph Lockwood, is on expense. Jan. 20, 1862: Columbia to Lebanon.. Silas Rouse, deranged and on expense. Jan. 21, 1862: I am informed that Windham has commenced a suit against Groton or some other town for the support of some of the Rouses. Jan. 24, 1862: Lebanon to Farmington. Adney Gladding and wife Miranda are sick, destitute and on expense. Jan. 30, 1862: Lebanon to Wethersfield. Adney Gladding, son of Amos B. Gladding of your town, and wife Miranda are on expense. Memorandum, Feb. 1862: Mrs. Lockwood has not been assisted by the town of Chaplin. She owns a piece of land in Chaplin, on which taxes have been abated since her husband's death. Feb. 21, 1862: New London to Lebanon. William Beckwith, his wife and 5 children are on expense; they say they belong to your town. Feb. 25, 1862: Lebanon to New London. William Beckwith does not belong to this town. May 28, 1862: Windham to Lebanon. Windham to Lebanon. Samuel J. Davis (colored), his wife Sarah Ann and 5 children (Mary Isabella, aged 8; Adelaide Maria, 7; Sarah Jane, 4; William Herbert, 3; Arthur Albert(?), 2) on expense. (Note: copy of letter sent last May; Samuel Jr. Davis said to be an inhabitant of Lebanon through his father.) Sept. 22, 1862: Lebanon to Colchester. Orrin Fuller, whose wife is insane and in this town,, was born in Colchester and lived there until he was 30 years old. He has not lived in any one place long enough to gain a residence. Oct. 1, 1862: Hartford to Lebanon. There is due to this town a sum for supplies furnished to Betsey Singleton; part was paid by your overseer of the poor, who left theother part to be paid by Charles E. Congdon. We have written to Mr. Congdon but he does not pay any attention. He is to pay for all expenses contracted prior to Apr. 1, 1861. Oct. 28, 1862: Lebanon to Colchester. Catherine Fuller, wife of Orrin Fuller, is now in our alms house. Dec. 1862: Lebanon to Colchester. Bill for support of Catherine Fuller, wife of Orrin Fuller, from Oct. 9 to Dec. 13, 1862. Dec. 2, 1862: Windham to Lebanon. Bill for supplies furnished Jason Davis and family May 23 to July 3, 1862; to cash paid to Joseph Davis and Martha Davis for services at Jason's (May 23 to July 3 and July 3 to Aug. 11, 1862, respectively); support of Mrs. Davis at alms house for 5 weeks from Aug. 11, 1862. Dec. 25, 1862: Lebanon to Colchester. Orrin Fuller lived in Windham but not for 7 years, as you claim. He did not live there long enough to gain a residence.
