Brown buwbrown@comcast.net October 30, 2009, 8:38 pm Clipping From Unidentified Stonington Area Newspaper March 1943 Mrs. Frank Henderson of St. Louis announced yesterday that she had sold her Stonington home, known as the old Eells house, to Grace Zaring Stone, the author, who under the name of Ethel Vance, wrote the best-selling novel "Escape." When Mrs. Stone occupies the 10-room Colonial structure, built in 1776 by Rev. Nathaniel Eells, she will be joining a colony of literary and artistic figures here that includes Stephen Vincent Benet and Griffith Coale, the muralist. Mrs. Stone was expected here sometime in April.
