STANTON of the Town of East Lyme in the County of New London and State of Connecticut, being of sound and disposing mind and memory do make, publish and declare the following to be my last will and testament, hereby revoking all former wills by me made. 1st I direct that my just debts and funeral expenses be paid out of my estate. 2nd I give, bequeath and devise my farm in East Lyme to my son Elvin A. STANTON. Also all the personal property I own at the time of my death except that herein otherwise disposed of. 3rd I give and devise to my daughter, Mary D. MANWARING $50 in cash and all my wearing apparel. 4th I give to my great niece Marion BIGAR of Mystic my gold watch and chain. 5th I appoint my son Elvin A. STANTON executor of this my last will and testament. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal at East Lyme this 9th day of October A.D. 1914. Jennie A. STANTON (seal) Signed, sealed, published and declared, as and for her last will and testament, by her the said testatrix in presence of us, who in her presence and at her request, and in presence of each other have subscribed our names as witnesses hereunto. Town of East Lyme We who have subscribed our names as witnesses to the foregoing will, make solemn oath that Jennie A. STANTON the said testatrix signed and sealed the foregoing instrument in our presence and in the presence of each of us, that she published and declared the same to be her last will and testament, and that we each signed our names as witnesses at her request and in her presence and in presence of each other, and that at the time of executing this will the said testatrix was to the best of our knowledge and belief, of sound and disposing mind and memory, and free from all undue influence. BUSH Commissioner of the Superior Court for New London County Vol. 21, p. 300 State of Connecticut, District of East Lyme, January 24th A.D. 1918 To whom it may concern: This certifies that Jennie A. STANTON who last dwelt in the Town of East Lyme, County of New London, State of Connecticut, and who was the owner of real estate situated in the Town of East Lyme, County of New London and State of Connecticut, died at East Lyme on the 5th day of January A.D. 1918 leaving a last will and testament. Attest Elvin A. STANTON, Executor of the last will and testament Recorded January 26th 1918 by Ernest C. RUSSELL, Town Clerk 9 a.m. Vol. 21, p. 361 State of Connecticut, County of New London ss. I Wait BUSH Clerk of the Court of Probate, within and for the District of East Lyme in said County of New London and keeper of the Records and Seal thereof, hereby certify that the last place of residence of said Jennie A. STANTON deceased was in the town of East Lyme in the State of Connecticut; that the estate of said deceased has been settled in said Probate Court; that according to the terms of the will there is set to Elvin A. STANTON of East Lyme, the following real estate, to wit; 1st a certain piece of land with buildings thereon situated in the Town of East Lyme and bounded as follows: on the north by the highway; on the east by lands of Fred DART, William Beck, Charles CONE and A.J. BUSH; on the south by land of A.J. BUSH and on the west by land formerly of James LUCE Estate containing forty (40) acres more or less. 2nd a certain piece of land situated in the town of East Lyme bounded on the north by land of Nellie MAYNARD; on the East by land of Fred DART; on the south by the highway and on the west by land of Nellie MAYNARD and containing seven (7) acres more or less. In Testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand, and affixed the seal of said Court, on this 24th day of July A.D. 1918 (Seal) Wait BUSH Clerk State of Connecticut, County of New London ss. I, Austin J. BUSH, sole and presiding Judge of the Court of Probate within and for the District of East Lyme in said County of New London hereby certify that Wait BUSH whose name is above written and subscribed, is, and was at the date thereof Clerk of the Court of Probate within and for the District of East Lyme in said New London County, and keeper of the Records and Seal thereof, duly commissioned and sworn, that I am well acquainted with his signature and know the above to be his, and that the above Certificate by him made is in due form to authenticate the records, files and proceedings of said Court.
