It is always best to consult the original material for verification. ************************************************************************ Joseph Bernier Joseph Bernier, 87, of East Hartford, loving husband of Eva (Paradis) Bernier, entered into eternal rest Monday, April 23, 2001, at his home, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Limestone, Maine, a son of the late Francis and Virginia (Labreck) Bernier, he had resided in Hartford for 50 years prior to moving to East Hartford nine years ago. Prior to his retirement, the former Royal Typewriter Co., Hartford, employed him for many years. Besides his beloved wife of 57 years, Mr. Bernier is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Pauline and Casey Pita of Coventry; two sons and daughters-in-law, Norman J. and Valerie Bernier of Newington, and Michael J. and Diane Bernier of East Hartford, with whom he made his home; seven grandchildren, Tracy Pita, Lauren Bernier, Michelle Bernier, Joseph Bernier, Chino Bernier, Janet Bernier, and Jonathan Bernier; and several nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be held at 9 a.m. Thursday, April 26, from D'Esopo-East Hartford Memorial Chapel, 30 Carter St., East Hartford, with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 10 a.m. at Assumption Church, 29 S. Adams St., Manchester. Burial will be at Silver Lane Cemetery, East Hartford. Relatives and friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 25, at the funeral home.
