Bailey of Suffield, died Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2001, at Hartford Hospital. Born in Springfield, daughter of the late Guy and Martha (Livermore) Grant, she lived in the Melrose section of East Windsor before moving to Suffield in 1980. Prior to her retirement, Barbara was employed by South Windsor Dry Cleaners. She was a member of the Northeast Spinners Association. Besides her loving husband of 48 years, Barbara is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Sylvia and Larry Magoon of Suffield; two sons and daughters-in-law, David and Elizabeth Bailey of New Hampshire and Glenn and Dolli Bailey of North Carolina; six grandchildren, Krysten, Matthew, Samuel, and Michael Bailey, Melissa Lamb, and Erin Magoon; two great-grandchildren, Kenneth and Jenna Lamb; a daughter-in-law, Penny Bailey of Virginia; a sister, Constance Swanson of Arizona; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by a son, Dennis Bailey, and a brother, David Grant. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 22, at Agawam Baptist Church, 760 Main St., Agawam, Mass. There are no calling hours.
