(Wilson) Bangasser Edna C. (Wilson) Bangasser, 75, of Manchester, beloved wife of Joseph E. Bangasser, died Thursday, March 6, 2003, at Manchester Memorial Hospital. Born Dec. 27, 1927, in Manchester, daughter of the late Samuel and Margaret (Sheeky) Wilson, she graduated from Manchester High School in 1946 and was a lifelong resident of Manchester. She is a veteran of the U.S. Navy WAVES, serving as a crewmember (flight attendant) in the Military Air Transport Service in support of the Berlin Airlift in 1949. She was a member of St. James Catholic Church in Manchester. In addition to her husband, she is survived by five daughters and sons-in-law, Janet and Donn Matteson of South Windsor, Margaret and W. Jeffery Doenges of Milford, Karen and Juris Labrencis of Vernon, Ellen and Michael Rizzo of Glastonbury, Laura and Ronald Robidoux of South Windsor; and nine grandchildren, Rebecca (Matteson) Slater, Peter Matteson, Timothy and Emily Doenges, Jessica and Kristen Labrencis, Valerie Rizzo, and Mark and Michelle Robidoux. She is also survived by three sisters and one brother-in-law, Dorothy Hubbard, Helen O'Connell, Gladys and Wilbert (Bud) Garrison, all of Manchester; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two sisters, Florence McDonald and Margaret Gardner. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 11, 2003, at St. James Church, 896 Main St., Manchester, followed by burial at East Cemetery. Her family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. on Monday, March 10, 2003, at the John F. Tierney Funeral Home, 219 W. Center St., Manchester. The family members extend their deepest appreciation to the Manchester Manor staff for their compassionate care and support.
