Obit: Domenica (Fornabi) Ducharme Bartolucci, Obituary, Sept. 18, 2001 Source: Journal Inquirer Manchester, CT (issue Sept. 21, 2001) Submitter: ABishop, October 2001 ***************************************************************************** BARTOLUCCI Domenica "Minnie" (Fornabi) Ducharme Bartolucci, 92, of Wethersfield, was called to heaven in her sleep on Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2001. As the last surviving member of her immediate family, she was predeceased by three brothers, Christopher, Michael, and Anthony; and sister, Josephine. Minnie is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Marion (Ducharme) and Albin Turnberg of Springfield and Estelle (Ducharme) and Daniel McNamara of Windsor Locks; and a son, George Ducharme of Wethersfield, with whom she made her home. A son, James, and a daughter, Amelia, predeceased her. Minnie, the matriarch of a five-generation family, leaves 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. Born on Feb. 8, 1909, she was a native of Hartford's Front Street, and attended Brown School. She was employed at Fuller Brush Company, and was a retired employee of Travelers Insurance Company. She was a member of the Corpus Christi Women's Club and volunteered as a Friendly Visitor for the town of Wethersfield. She surrounded herself with family and friends as often as she could and in doing so brightened their lives. As a testament to her strength and devotion to her family, in the last few months of her life she attended a daughter's 50th wedding anniversary, a granddaughter's 25th anniversary, a great-granddaughter's wedding, and a great-great-grandson's First Holy Communion. Minnie's wholehearted devotion to her family was secondary only to her love of God. Whether she was known as Minnie, Mama, Mom, Gram, Nana, or Little Nina, she would make you giggle with her feisty Italian sense of humor, or melt your heart with her angelic smile. Minnie believed that "Love makes the world go round" and practiced it every day of her life. A funeral service will be held at 8:45 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 22, at D'Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd., Wethersfield, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. at Corpus Christi Church, 601 Silas Deane Highway, Wethersfield. Burial will be in Mount St. Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield. Calling hours will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 21, at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Minnie F. Bartolucci Scholarship Fund, 51 Oakdale St., Wethersfield, CT 06109. *********************************************** Copyright.
