It is always best to consult the original material for verification. ************************************************************************ Edgar Beaumont Sr. Edgar Beaumont Sr., 96, of Vernon, died Sunday, April 15, 2001, at a local nursing home. He was the widower of Phyllis (Nourse) Beaumont. He was born Nov. 22, 1904, in Rockville, son of the late Samuel and Annie (Cholmondeley) Beaumont. He was married to his wife, Phyllis, for 72 years. He was employed by the New York-New Haven Railroad for 43 years as a general foreman in both Waterbury and Hartford. He was a member of St. John Episcopal Church, East Hartford, where he was the warden emeritus. Mr. Beaumont was also the chairman of the East Hartford Board of Education in the 1940s. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Phyllis and Robert Dugger of Vernon; a son and daughter-in-law, Edgar and Jean Beaumont of Winterport, Maine; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a special nephew, Donald Nourse. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 18, 2001, at Callahan Funeral Home, 1602 Main St., East Hartford. Burial will follow in Silver Lane Cemetery, East Hartford. Visitation will be at noon Wed-nesday, April 18, at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. John Episcopal Church, 12 Rector St., East Hartford, CT 06108.
